Midland Mills Group Restoration Fund
The Midland Mills Group operates a separate fund to assist specific restoration or preservation projects at mills in the Midland area. Donations to the Restoration Fund are always gratefully received so that we can continue to offer this support, and some members take part in fund raising activities to provide the necessary financial input for the fund.

A grant has been given to the Stroud Textile Trust based in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire to assist in the repairs to the rim gear on one of the waterwheels that used to power textile machinery at Dunkirk Mill. The overshot waterwheel (see photo left) is 12 feet wide by 13 feet diameter, has 40 buckets, and was installed in the mill in 1865. It is operated on regularly on open days.
